Being Used by God, Tip #8: Obey God Without Fear - Monday Morning Devotion

Despite his skepticism, Gideon obeyed and "did as the Lord told him" (Judges 6:27). Most of us find that we are timid in the face of opposition. But, the opposition we face is nothing compared to what Gideon and, certainly, what Jesus faced. Gideon risked death; Jesus suffered death. God is more than likely not asking you to face death, just discomfort.

Are we willing to obey God at the risk of our discomfort (and fear of discomfort)?

It's been said that there are 365 Bible passages, one for each day of the year, that either say "Fear not" or express a similar sentiment. It is clear that we are to face what God gives us with obedience and without fear.

Heavenly Father, help me not to be put off by opposition but to obey you fearlessly. In Jesus' name, Amen.
