Room for Baggage - Lent 2020
A one-time prayer is not a "fix-all" for a broken life. John 16:33 says, "In the world, you will have tribulation. But take courage, I have overcome the world!" Jesus overcame the world; we have not. What we do have now is the grace and love of our Heavenly Father and the certainty of eternal life because Jesus already did the hard work.
A Time for Everything - Lent 2020
There is a time for everything and a purpose for each piece of the puzzle God puts in front of us. The best we can do is keep our priorities straight and embrace the chaos. Carve out time with God. Show love to the people you care about and those in need. Love the space where God has placed you.
The Dead Shall Rise - Lent 2020
Our only hope in the world is in Jesus, in his work on the cross, and in his resurrection.
January Haskell LIGHT News
The Native American college students at Haskell Indian Nations University are now in their 2nd Semester. Here are PRAYER REQUESTS FOR JANUARY. Thank you for praying!
Advent: Landscapes - Monday, December 30
During the days of Advent – and EVERY DAY – let us be like John the Baptist. Go into “all the regions” God sends you to proclaim His message of love and grace. Go and prepare the way of the Lord because one day, “all flesh will see the salvation of God.” May all who hear this message of hope and salvation receive it so they can have joy in this life and live in the beautiful landscape of Heaven forever!
Advent: Searching for a Savior - Friday, December 27
In this one day, I encountered three people in need of a savior. In this one day, we were able to point three people to the Savior by showing love to our neighbors, and by listening and sharing our hope in Him. On this day, we were able to say the King has come. "Do you know him?"
Advent: Telling Their Story - Thursday, December 26
Advent is also a time of telling a simple story. It is the story of God coming into His creation, as the person Jesus, to show His love to all people, the people He created. He, then, perfectly walked on the path He made. Before He left for Heaven, He told His followers to tell everyone this story so they would also know the path of life and have His joy, now and forever.
Advent: A Legacy of Love - Sunday, December 22
Our mission at Haskell is to invite them into our lives, provide them a safe place, and show them the love of Jesus. It is not up to us to heal their hurts or restore their legacy, it is our desire to introduce them to Jesus and a legacy of love. He will give them a new promise and inheritance.
Advent: Becoming a Child of God -Wednesday, December 11
In helping me find my identity, He called me to share this knowledge with other women.
I don’t only share the good in my life, I share the messy things. The things that brought me to my knees and helped me recognize I needed a Savior.
Advent: Goodwill to Man -Monday, December 9
To counteract the unknown, we seek peace. Some people desperately search for this peace and never find it. The unbelieving world searches for it in many different places: human relationships, drugs, alcohol, and many other potentially harmful things. Even those in the family of Jesus Christ turn a blind eye to the peace he offers.
