Please Thank God with us for: 

• The New Life through the Water and the Word that a family received last Sunday.
• The work of the CUI group and the great fellowship we had with them.
• The team from Our Savior’s in Topsfield, MA, and how the Lord used them. 
• The wonderful ordination celebration on August 27th of God’s calling and faithfulness. 

Jesus tells us to "store up for yourselves treasures in heaven... For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:20-21). What better way to make sure our hearts are focused on our eternal life than to help this and future generations to find their way to Jesus.

Jesus himself, on his cross, when he prayed that his murderers might be forgiven, for they knew not what they were doing, and his true servant Stephen, who copied faithfully his Lord in his own dying moments, are beautiful though extreme examples of what is meant here. It is St. Luke alone who mentions this act of Jesus on the cross; it is St. Luke, again, who has preserved St. Stephen's words, uttered while they were stoning him to death. He would show how the Lord's command could be carried out.

As God calls you to give, remember that He would never ask for more than He is willing to give you, whether on this earth or in our heavenly home.

When God places a burden on your heart, when you see the need, respond with the confidence that He will take care of the rest.

Here is a woe to them whom all men speak well of, that is, who make it their great and only care to gain the praise and applause of men, who value themselves upon that more than upon the favor of God and his acceptance.
