The Navajo Nation: Seek and You Shall Find
The mission trip to Navajo in October of 2017 was unlike any other mission trip in Concordia’s recent history. While there were no national borders crossed, upon arrival the team had entered a “country within a country.” The Navajo Reservation is only a turn off I-40, one of the main arteries of the southwest, but few travelers turn off the interstate to experience the largest Native Indian reservation in the United States, comparable in size to West Virginia.
The Bunny is Gone, So What's Next? Devotion #3: Living in Faith - Monday Morning Devotion
Their faith allowed the Spirit to do amazing things in and through them, to bring about a revolution and revival in the hearts of Jews and Gentiles around the ancient world, to ignite a fire that spread across the land—a fire that still burns today. And just like the apostles, we too can be used by the Spirit to fulfill God’s work . . . all we need is faith in Jesus!
Luke 6:47-49 FNV
Only as we live this deeper life, when we "dig deep," is our joy assured forever. The teaching of our Lord in this parable is that, whatever in character, joy, hope, is not based on the deepest life, life in Himself, must be overthrown.

Believing the Lies You Were Taught
1 John 4:21 tells us, “whoever loves God must also love his brother.” But that isn’t what Native peoples were taught. The boarding school experience, that resulted in rampant historic trauma, addiction, and social suffering, seems an odd way to say, “I love you, brother.”
The Bunny is Gone, So What's Next? Devotion #2: Following the Road - Monday Morning Devotion
Jesus traveled the road we never could and “for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross” (Hebrews 12:2 NKJV). He humbly took that road, riding on a donkey just as it was foretold in Zechariah. And because of this, no matter what road we’re on or where our ride has left us, Jesus will be there to meet us and shine His light on us!
Luke 6:46 FNV
A man cannot accidentally do the will of God because it so happens that his pleasure coincides with God's pleasure, just as a person may walk in the same path as another without intending to be his companion.

The Harvest is Ready - A Sacred Grounds New Beginning
As the ministry leader for the Haskell LIGHT Campus Ministry, Bob's job is to reach out to the students - the "harassed and helpless," the "sheep without a shepherd."
Thank you for joining us (Lent) - Easter Monday
I hope that you enjoyed your Lent devotions this year.
Hopefully, through these devotions, you were able to draw closer to your Savior while also learning more about Native Ministry through Lutheran Indian Ministries.
