Go with the Wind

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:29-30)

Have you ever gone out on a windy day and walked into the wind? It is hard to walk against a mighty force!

This is what life is like when we are struggling to do everything on our own. We keep walking against the wind! We worry about everything. We worry about our children, our finances, our jobs, our promotion. Our worry turns into anxiety.

We struggle to do things perfectly! We struggle in our relationships with one another. Husbands struggle to please their wives. Wives struggle to make their husbands happy. We struggle to raise our children based on what society says we can or cannot do. We keep struggling against the wind!

We believe we are spiritual people, yet we don’t ask the Great Spirit - who comes as the wind (Acts 2:2)- to help us! We need to be honest and truthful, letting the Spirit of Truth hear our struggles. Speak to Him, and let Him know your struggles. Ask for forgiveness for trying to be your own god. Then, let Him take control!

Turn around, and walk with Him! Let the Spirit guide you. He has your back. He wants to take your burdens - just as He did on the cross.

Lord Jesus, help me to rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance. Help me speak the truth and bring my struggles before you. Lord Jesus, help me to walk with the wind so my burdens may be light! In Jesus' name, Amen!
