My Father is With Me - Lent 2020
Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.
John 16:32
Jesus, in preparing His disciples for His death, said to them, "A time has come where you will be scattered. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me!”
It is comforting to know Jesus, our Savior Himself, knows what is it like to be “all alone,” particularly at a time when He most needed his friends. What a great comfort to know that we are never alone in the greatest time of our need.
I hear story after story as people share the "aloneness” they feel in their pain. Often, those who have been abused feel the loneliness of their pain long after the abuse occurred. It is at these times that my husband, Rick, and I bring the message that Jesus knows their suffering and understands the pain of being "alone."
It is to these moments that we bring the Words of Jesus, “Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me” and show them these words are true for them, also. These are words of hope and healing to broken people. We have seen these words bring hopefulness and light to many lives.
During this Lent season, may this message bring healing and hope in your life. May you know, in a deeper way, that you are never alone no matter where you are or what you are going through in your life.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word that brings to us the person and the words of Jesus. Thank you, Father, that you are always with us no matter what we go through. We pray you help us live our lives in light of this knowledge. In Jesus' name, Amen.
