Official Welcome to Carissa!

Greetings to all!

It is my pleasure to announce that Carissa Wittig will officially join the staff of Lutheran Indian Ministries as of today.

Carissa will be joining Dave and Rosemary Sternbeck in Fairbanks, AK and has been tabbed as Rosemary's successor as she winds down her career in active ministry with LIM and moves towards retirement and the grandkids.

Carissa is no stranger to our ministry. This summer, she completed her fourth year as a volunteer at teen camp and has also traveled to several villages in Alaska to teach VBS to Native Alaskan children.

Teaching is in Carissa's DNA. Both her mother and father teach at Lamb of God Lutheran School in Las Vegas. That's also where Carissa taught pre-school prior to accepting God's call to LIM.

Carissa's background is a little unique for someone heading off to Alaska. She was born in Hawaii (but is not a Hawaiian native) and has lived in Austrailia and Las Vegas in addition to her other travels.

Carissa has a love for the Lord, a fondness for the beauty of Alaska and a heart for Native Alaska people.

Please join me in welcoming Carissa to LIM and keep her in your prayers as she begins this new chapter in her life.

In His ministry,

Tim

PS It's Carissa's birthday on Wednesday!
