Living By Faith: Just Sheep - Monday Morning Summer Devotion Series - Week 6
While I, too often, act like a sheep, it helps me to remember I am God’s sheep. And like a good shepherd, He will provide for me and guide me. He promises none of His sheep will be lost. We know Jesus’ voice. We are His sheep, and He will lead us out of trouble.
Living By Faith: Out of the World - Monday Morning Summer Devotion Series - Week 3
It is hard to not get wrapped up into worrying about our nation and the fear of destruction, but we need to understand this is not ours to worry about. This is not our kingdom.
We should, instead, look to our heavenly kingdom and our heavenly Father. God has everything under control. He is sovereign.
A New Trauma
We heard the warnings and followed the rules: Stay home, social distance, self-quarantine for 14 days. We did our best, and we flattened curves. Yeah, us! But, what about the individuals who, because of the forced isolation, were exposed to abusive relationships, addictions, and worsening physical and mental health issues. This pandemic has made Native ministry even more relevant.
Waving in Celebration - Lent 2020
Let’s practice. Put on some music, sing a song, and wave your arms. Wave a branch from a tree or bush. Wave a prayer shawl. Wave some feathers. Have a joyful heart as you show God how much you appreciate His great love for you!
Love Each Other - Lent 2020
How are they to love God if they cannot even love themselves? How do we expect them to come to know a Savior who loves them, created them in His image, and sees them as His special children when they do not see themselves as any of those things?
Sacred Ground - Lent 2020
People still go to the cross of Jesus to “hunt” for the truth about salvation or find healing in their inner “sacred ground,” the soul, and it is a very real battleground as they try to live on the Jesus Path.
Sacred Story Success at Haskell
The weekend of Valentine’s Day saw many hearts open at Haskell LIGHT.
Our Sacred Story team converged on the Haskell Indian Nations University to touch the lives of the native students and community members by allowing them to share their stories of abuse and hurt in order to begin their healing journey.
There is No Tomb - Lent 2020
My tribe had great chiefs like Crazy Horse, Red Cloud, Sitting Bull, and Spotted Elk - all leaders we greatly respected. But just like King David, these great Indian leaders are dead. All we have left are the lessons they taught us and the tombs which hold their lifeless bodies.
Jesus’ followers, however, are set apart from all the other people of the world. Our great leader, our Savior, Jesus Christ, has no tomb. He walked out of his!
Restoring Communication - Lent 2020
Jesus’ death removed the barrier so that new life, in a new relationship with God, could begin for all people.
