Celebrate Native American Sunday in November!

November is Native American Heritage Month, and Lutheran Indian Ministries invites congregations to celebrate by recognizing one Sunday in November as Native American Sunday.

A number of resources are available to your congregation to observe Native American Sunday.

  • Worship Service Videos. Choose from a series of videos, ranging from 2 to 5 minutes in length, that provide an overview of the mission and work of Lutheran Indian Ministries. And new this year, hear from our staff as they share their life experiences and calling to serve Lutheran Indian Ministries.
  • Worship Materials, including a gathering prayer, Scripture readings, hymn suggestions, and The Lord’s Prayer in a Native language.
  • Bulletin Inserts, print-ready in color or black-and-white.
  • An Adult Bible Study
  • Children’s Message and Craft Templates, including a suggested text, Lutheran Indian Ministries cross logo visual aid, and two coloring page hand-outs.
  • Giving Envelope Template

November also draws us closer to celebrating the Advent season. If you have not received a copy, we encourage you to download our 2015 Advent Devotions booklet. Written by our ministry staff and volunteers, we pray these devotions will be a blessing to you as you meditate on God’s Word. May you gain a better understanding of Native culture and the unique challenges facing Natives today.

New this year, you can receive daily devotions by email during the Advent season. Daily Advent devotions will also be shared on Twitter. Follow Lutheran Indian Ministries at Twitter.com/IndianMinistry. And subscribe below for email devotions.
