Living By Faith: Fear or Faith - Monday Morning Summer Devotion Series - Week 2
Science says, you cannot be driven by anxiety and live in joy; our brains just won’t allow it. God’s word reinforces this and teaches us.
A New Trauma
We heard the warnings and followed the rules: Stay home, social distance, self-quarantine for 14 days. We did our best, and we flattened curves. Yeah, us! But, what about the individuals who, because of the forced isolation, were exposed to abusive relationships, addictions, and worsening physical and mental health issues. This pandemic has made Native ministry even more relevant.
Summer Mission Work Doesn't End in the Fall
I love to tell of what the Lord is doing when we let Him work through us, and you are a vital part of it!
Trunk or Treating Fun at Makah Lutheran
Over the course of a couple hours, they hosted close to 250 children from the community who participated in trick-or-treating, apple bobbing, and a variety of games, shopped the pumpkin patch, and enjoyed hot cider, cocoa, and corn on the cob.
Generosity is Meant to Be Shared
Besides being extra busy with ministry and children, our hearts are full. It is amazing the change I feel in myself through the simple act of obedience to God in the calling He has placed on my life along side my husband.
Living in the Mission Field
Generosity is meant to be shared, which also happens to be Ben and Natalie's motto for every event and action they take as they move forward.
Small Projects Reach the Hearts and Souls of Native People
When Tom and Cathy plowed up a thorny back yard so that a tribal elder could grow vegetables; tribal leaders built a community garden so that others could enjoy the benefits of fresh vegetables for their families.
When they gathered a group of volunteers to fill in potholes around elders’ homes; the tribal council began to better maintain their roads.
After they helped to plan drumming circles and dance groups; tribal groups started to teach the youth about their lost culture.
