If it were not for Volunteers ... - Rosemary Sternbeck's Story
Rosemary Sternbeck serves a unique role in Lutheran Indian Ministries. As volunteer coordinator, she keeps in contact with Alaska Natives in remote villages to help identify a particular need that Christian group volunteers can help with in the summer, things like hammer-and-nail projects and vacation Bible school events. “We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 1:3).
Together with her husband, David (Nuu-chah-nulth), the Sternbecks visit Native villages, network with Christians across the country, build relationships and, however they can, encourage the body of Christ. But Rosemary says if it weren’t for volunteers—perhaps you—they could not do what they do.
