Song of Praise - Psalm 89: 1, 5, 11

Song of Praise - Psalm 89: 1, 5, 11 (NKJV)

"I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations…And the heavens will praise Your wonders, O LORD; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the saints…The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and all its fullness, You have founded them..."

No matter what we may be going through, praise brings us out of our gloom. When we are tempted to focus on the situation, the praising heart puts its focus on Jesus.   Our praise is the foundation of our witness: “I will praise You, O LORD, among the peoples, and I will sing praises to You among the nations.” (Psalm 108:3 NKJV)

We were created for God’s glory. He placed a song in our inner being through His Spirit (Psalm 77:6). Because He formed us, His fingerprints are on us. Created in God’s image, we have creativity inside of us.

As children of God through faith in Christ, we carry the sound of Heaven in us. The Father knows that sound. Just like a mother knows her baby’s cries; she knows what each sound means. The Father knows our voice.

“He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD.” (Psalm 40:3 ESV) God gives us a song. A new song. It is His song of forgiveness and eternal life in Jesus, for us to sing to the many nations.

Father God,
Give us your song of Jesus to sing to the nations.
In Jesus name, Amen.
